Offering shelter from all but the most severe weather, the vast expanse of Chichester Harbour offers a superb option for your fishing experience. Covering an area of 74sq km’s the sportsfisherman is spoilt for choice! Much of the harbour is uncovered at low tide, as the tide moves in then these areas will soon be submerged. As the fish move in over the shallows  we can quietly follow in the boat, often fishing in depths of less than 1 metre. Casting a lure or a fly across offers spectacular sport from predating and hungry fish. As the running tide whether its flooding or ebbing, travels across and around the many channels the fish will often be found, on the hunt!  So we as anglers work many of these areas during your trip with us, always looking and searching.

Chichester harbour is home to a variety of species throughout the year and as such offers the angler many other fish to target. Lure and fly fishing produces mackerel, bass, and bream. The harbour also offers larger fish to target such as smoothounds and even tope on baits. Gilthead bream fishing is also an option as their numbers increase every year.

Solent

The Eastern end of the Solent starts at the entrance to Chichester harbour. Spreading west for 20 miles to the Needles The Solent can offer many alternative fishing areas, generally in deeper water. Whether its casting a fly around one of the historic forts for bass, mackerel and pollock or drifting the tidal banks situated between the Isle of Wight and the mainland the Solent offers many fishing options. Full charters can also include the option of a lunch break calling into Cowes or Portsmouth.

Offshore Banks and Reefs

Located directly south of Chichester harbour, spreading from Selsey in the East to Ventor in the West we fish a huge variety of banks and reefs. Our boat was specifically chosen as the perfect boat, well capable to carry our customers to these fishing marks quickly but safely and in comfort. These banks and reefs will often be feeding stations for shoals of travelling bass. Some days the bass will only stay on one particular mark for an hour or so, other times they may hold up for weeks on end. It is the skipper’s job to make sure that the customers are at the right place at the right time! Truth be told there are many, many factors to consider when deciding when and where to fish. Your skipper Glen has fished these marks for many years, operating charter and commercial bass fishing boats he has built a wealth of knowledge. These skills are not only important to locate the fish but he’ll also advise on the top fishing methods. These include soft plastic lures and slow jigs, all of which we carry onboard for our customer’s use! We want you to catch fish!

This is some footage taken last year, we've found a huge shoal of good sized fish in deep water, the bass are feeding hard on whiting, chasing them to the surface where the birds join in. When the fish are in this mood we cast surface lures, big bass will greedily hit the lure then you hang on because the fish will dive over 100'!!
